This 4 ingredient garlic and herb
salmon is so simple and quick to
make. Perfect for dinner when you
don’t have a lot of time to cook.

Lately I’ve been aiming for healthier meals—especially during the holidays when treats are everywhere. Between multiple family dinners at Thanksgiving and Christmas, it’s easy to overindulge. A quick, flavorful fish dinner helps balance things out.
My husband is picky but he loves fish, and salmon is his favorite. I enjoy salmon too, but I prefer it with a little extra flavor. This recipe is perfect for that: just four ingredients, minimal prep, and ready in under 15 minutes.

I find a 1 lb salmon fillet is ideal for two people. Keep in mind thicker fillets take longer to cook; thinner pieces tend to cook more evenly and won’t dry out as easily. For consistent results, check the salmon near the shorter end of the cooking time.
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Melt the butter with the olive oil in a small saucepan or the microwave. Brush the melted mixture over the top of the salmon so it’s evenly coated.

Sprinkle Old Bay Garlic and Herb seasoning over the fillet to taste. Place the salmon on a greased baking sheet. Optional: top with lemon slices for a bright citrus note—my husband usually skips the lemon, but I like it.

Bake for about 12–15 minutes, depending on the thickness of the fillet. The fish should flake easily with a fork and be opaque throughout. The garlic and herb seasoning gives just the right amount of flavor without overpowering the salmon.
