Monday Coffee Break #27- Encouragement, Inspiration & Recipes

Do you have your coffee cup? I do!

I’m sitting here with a warm hazelnut cup in my hands and feeling grateful for the fresh start that every Monday brings. Even if last week didn’t go as planned, a new week gives us the opportunity to reset, refocus, and take small intentional steps toward the life we want. Instead of dwelling on what went wrong, we can use today to set gentle goals, to choose our attitudes, and to make room for the daily grace that helps us move forward.

What would make this week meaningful for you? Maybe it’s a single small habit you’ll stick to, a conversation you’ve been postponing, or a kindness you’ll offer without expecting anything in return. When we aim for incremental improvements and look for the moments where we can serve others, our weeks tend to feel more productive and more full of purpose.

This morning I shared a thought on Facebook: “It’s Christ living through us that is the secret to victorious Christian living — not simply us trying harder to live for Jesus.” That idea comforts and challenges me at the same time. It reminds us that the power to love, to forgive, and to encourage comes from something bigger than our willpower. When we allow that life to flow through us, our ordinary interactions become opportunities to bring healing and light.

If you’re hoping for a truly good week, consider looking for those instances where you can be an instrument of kindness. Let your actions be simple — a listening ear, a prayer, a helping hand, a genuine compliment. Those small, surrendered moments invite the very changes we long to see in ourselves and in our relationships. This week’s Coffee Break features a handful of little things — encouraging words, creative inspiration, and a tasty recipe — that can help you brighten the lives of family and friends around you.

Happy Monday, friends! Let’s begin this week together, letting our lights shine in ordinary places. Click the images or links to read more and to dive deeper into each idea.

When Did Clingy Become So Cool

The way we talk about parenting matters. Words shape our expectations, encourage our hearts, and influence the way children see themselves. This piece invites parents to celebrate growth and newness and to practice the sometimes-difficult art of letting go. Rather than labeling children or comparing ourselves harshly to unrealistic standards, the article encourages us to be supportive, kind, and steady — a true source of encouragement for both our kids and the fellow parents we speak with.
