Choose Your Turkey Wisely

For convenience and value, deli-sliced oven-roasted turkey works perfectly. Choose slices that are not paper-thin so they hold the stuffing and roll without tearing. If you prefer more turkey in each bite, simply layer two slices before adding the stuffing and rolling.

If shopping on a budget, many supermarkets carry good-quality packaged deli turkey—avoid overly processed, thin-sliced varieties where possible.

Instant Stuffing For The Win

Instant stuffing keeps this recipe quick and affordable while still tasting great. I used two boxes of turkey-flavored instant stuffing and prepared them according to package directions. If you prefer, you can substitute a homemade stuffing, but instant mixes save time and effort for a weeknight or easy weekend meal.

Simple Creamy Gravy

The creamy gravy is made from a can of cream of chicken soup whisked with milk and a little seasoning. It’s easy to prepare and creates a rich sauce that bakes into the roll ups and keeps the stuffing moist. If you want extra gravy, double the soup and increase the milk accordingly.

Adjust the parsley, poultry seasoning and black pepper to match your taste—start conservatively and add more as needed.

Stuffed Turkey Roll Ups With Creamy Gravy Recipe

This recipe delivers comforting Thanksgiving flavors without the long prep. With instant stuffing, deli turkey and a simple creamy gravy, it’s an affordable and delicious meal that’s easy to assemble and bake.

Ingredients

  • 2 boxes instant turkey stuffing, prepared (use butter as directed on the box)
  • 1 lb turkey deli meat (about 12–15 slices)
  • 1 can cream of chicken soup
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 10.5 ounces milk
  • Dried parsley, to taste
  • Black pepper, to taste
  • Poultry seasoning, to taste

Instructions

  1. Prepare the boxed stuffing according to package directions and let it cool slightly.
  2. Lay the turkey slices out on a flat surface. Work in batches if needed.
  3. Spoon about 2–3 tablespoons of prepared stuffing onto one end of each turkey slice. Tuck and roll the meat around the stuffing. Reserve about 1 to 1.5 cups of stuffing for the topping.
  4. Spray a baking dish with nonstick spray and arrange the turkey rolls in the dish, placing them fairly close together.
  5. In a bowl, whisk together the cream of chicken soup, milk and seasonings. A good starting point is 1 tablespoon dried parsley, 1/2 tablespoon poultry seasoning and a few shakes of black pepper. Pour the gravy over the turkey rolls.
  6. Sprinkle the reserved stuffing over the top in a loose, crumble pattern—it doesn’t need to be packed densely.
  7. Dot the top with the 4 tablespoons of butter and add a light sprinkle of additional seasonings if desired.
  8. Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 30–40 minutes, until the gravy is bubbling and the top is golden and crisp.
  9. Serve with creamy mashed potatoes and spoon the baking-dish gravy over the rolls.

Serve It Up

I served these roll ups with creamy mashed potatoes—the perfect partner for the rich gravy. The potatoes soak up the sauce and complete the comforting meal.
