This year I’m visiting supermarkets to find the best gluten free — and mostly dairy free — festive treats. I don’t have a Waitrose nearby, but while driving back from Cornwall we stopped in a town with a small Waitrose and found a lovely selection of Christmas goodies.
Below are the gluten free Christmas items I spotted at Waitrose. I’ve included the products I found in-store and noted a few others I’ve seen mentioned online but didn’t locate on the day.

Waitrose gluten free mince pies

Waitrose’s gluten free mince pies are also dairy free. They come in a pack of four and are topped with sugar for a traditional finish.
Waitrose gluten free Christmas pudding

A classic gluten and dairy free Christmas pudding, made with brandy and a mix of nuts including walnuts, almonds and pecans. It’s rich and packed with festive flavours.
Waitrose mini gluten free Christmas pudding

If you’re the only person needing a gluten free option, the mini Christmas pudding is a charming single-serve choice — small, convenient and perfectly portioned.
Arden Amici gluten free panettone

I hadn’t seen a gluten free panettone from Arden & Amici before, so it was a nice surprise at Waitrose. It looks indulgent and worth trying if you enjoy a soft, fruity sweet bread at Christmas.
Waitrose gluten free Christmas cake

The Waitrose gluten free Christmas cake is beautifully decorated and impressively dense — likely full of dried fruit and nuts. It looks like a traditional, festive centrepiece.
Waitrose gluten free iced Christmas cake slices

These pre-sliced gluten free iced cakes include both marzipan and icing, making them a decadent and convenient option for guests or for enjoying a little slice without committing to a whole cake.
Waitrose pigs in blankets

Pigs in blankets are a Christmas staple in many households, and the Waitrose version is gluten free as standard — great for sharing around the table.
Waitrose golden glitter avocado

For something whimsical, Waitrose had a golden glitter avocado made of chocolate — a novelty gift for someone who already seems to have everything.
Waitrose tipple truffle trio

These boozy truffles are gluten free and perfect for anyone who enjoys alcohol-infused chocolates. A small box makes a lovely festive treat or stocking filler.
Gluten free party food from Waitrose
The small store I visited didn’t carry their full party-food range, but Waitrose offers a wide selection of gluten free party items. Examples I’ve seen include:
- Barber’s Vintage Cheddar & Onion Muffins – 12 mini cheese and onion muffins topped with a cheesy sprinkle.
- Tomato and Mozzarella Arancini Bites – 12 sun-dried tomato arancini with gooey mozzarella centres.
- Breaded Cheese Selection – 12 portions of camembert, soft cheese and cream cheese coated in a gluten free crumb.
- Southern Fried Chicken Chunks – 20 pieces served with a ketchup dip.
- Ham and Cheese Croquettes – 12 croquettes filled with smoked ham, mozzarella and Cheddar.
- Pork Crackling Straws – crispy crackling served with a tangy apple sauce.
Waitrose has also offered a gluten free Christmas sandwich in the past. I’ll continue updating this page when I spot new items, so leave a comment if you notice anything I’ve missed.
